WHO: In Acchord is a mixed vocal ensemble of 7 singers, and has been
performing across Pennsylvania since 1996, in the past numbering as
many as 14 singers. Even through its membership changes (due to
marriages, graduations, relocations to other states and countries,
etc.), In Acchord has maintained its diversity, both in membership
(check out the bios page!) and musical variety. As for its musical
taste, In Acchord has none... rather, no defining style. At any
performance, one might hear a cappella interpretations of the Beatles,
Mary Chapin Carpenter, the Steve Miller Band, Seal, Terrence Trent
D'Arby and even a bit of Weird Al.
WHAT: A Cappella singing (no instruments, only voices!) for any
occasion.
WHERE: In Acchord rehearses in Pittsburgh, and usually performs
locally, but has traveled as far as New York State and Ohio to perform as well.
WHEN: In Acchord rehearses weekly in the Squirrel Hill area of
Pittsburgh, but is available for gigs year round.
WHY: A Cappella music can be a great alternative to live bands or
instrument musicians and In Acchord can fine tune its repertoire
depending your atmosphere and occasion. They've been been told that it
"adds a nice touch" to a happy hour gathering, an informal business
meeting, art gallery openings, holiday parties, etc.
HOW: In Acchord rehearses weekly in the Squirrel Hill area of
Pittsburgh and is always looking for new song arrangements (and at the
moment, an experienced male voice) and venues to perform.
